Title: Using an old electric motor, how could this could be used as a generator to power the computer
Post by: angie19 on Dec 13, 2016
A group of students found an old DC electric motor in a box. They were looking for a small generator so they could use to power their computer while they were out camping.
Explain how they might do this with the motor they found?..

DC motors are DC generators if you spin the shaft. You could say hook-up a propeller to the shaft and turn it into a wind turbine. The power will not be regulated so I don't know how practical this really will be.

DC engines are DC generators on the off chance that you turn the pole. You could say connect a propeller to the pole and transform it into a wind turbine. The force won't be directed so I don't know how commonsense this truly will be.
