How were the sites for the building of Hindu pilgrimage temples chosen?
a) They seemed sacred and appropriate places for a god to live, with proximity to water, a source of fruitfulness.
b) They were chosen for their proximity to a volcano, which was believed to protect the site from demons and evil spirits.
c) They were on the route to Jerusalem and would offer pilgims a place to rest during their journey.
d) They were sites where saints were martyred and where their relics were believed to perform miracles.
