Title: How do you calculate atomic mass using weighted average?
Post by: bugmenomore on Jan 6, 2013
Bromine is comprised of 60.52%   79Br (isotopic mass is 78.9243 amu) and 39.48%  81Br (isotopic mass is 80.9214). Using these values, what is the atomic mass of bromine?

I think I need to multiply .6052 by 78.9243 and add it to .3948 x 80.9214. Is it really that simple to do?

Any help is greatly appreciated.
