Title: Why do Blue Laser so powerful?
Post by: oemBiology on Mar 4, 2017
Referring to following video, I would like to know on why 1W blue laser gets so much power to burn anything within a few second, which only run by battery.  Can it cut anything within a second?

Furthermore, why do (Traditional) red laser not able to do that?

Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions

Blue light is more concentrated than any other visible light in the spectrum.

Could you please describe more on what concentrate materials is related to blue light?
Energy or wavelenght?

Do you have any suggestions?
Thank you very much for any suggestions :>

It's wavelength is smaller, so it's more penetrable.

Referring to following discussion, Red light penetrate further than blue light.

Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks, to everyone very much for any suggestions :>

Why does red light penetrate further than blue light or green light?
Because the red light has maximum wavelength(6200 - 8000 angstrom)while blue light (4640 - 5000 angstrom) and green light(5000 - 5780 angstrom) have less wavelength.
It also have least frequency (3.75*10^14 Hz ) which enables it to penetrate more.
You can also see dispersion of white light in prism in which the red light is above all other six colours because Red light moves with large velocity and offers less deviation in screen.
Hope it helped....

The differences are quite significant with red ligth penetrating 5 to 10 mm, while blue light only penetrates few mm. That is the reason for using red light in photodynamic therapy, albeit the fact that blue light is a potent activator of the photosensitizer.
