you didnt answer the question #1, #2 ive seen you answer the same question on yahoo answers, a completely useless answer,you don't even attempt to explain dehydration synthesis regardless that it is a not the answer he was looking for. maybe if he asked, how are monosaccharides combined to create polysaccharides.

Hi riverj22,

I think it's the acetal (not sure if it's actually a functional group). Acetal is when you have a carbon bond with 2 O-R groups. The actual bond between the 2 sugar molecules is called glycosidic bonds or glycosidic linkages. Yes, it is the same kind of bond for linking monosaccharides together in a long-chain polysaccharides.
