Title: Cancer metastasis processes Post by: beedog on May 1, 2017 Hey,
I need some urgent help regarding an assignment. We are given 8 processes: Extravasation, Intravasation, Invasion, Angiogenesis, Differentiation, Migration, Transformation, Circulation and we are meant to talk about them. However, I am unsure at the order that these processes occur. We are meant to start with the cell becoming cancerous at the beginning and end with the formation of an independent tumour mass at a new location. Any help will be appreciated. Do these diagrams help in terms of the order (https://biology-forums.com/gallery/28/6_01_05_17_2_13_27.jpeg) (https://biology-forums.com/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view&id=28968) (https://biology-forums.com/gallery/28/6_01_05_17_2_13_52.jpeg) (https://biology-forums.com/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view&id=28969) Here are a few sources, best one being the first one: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4028085/ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK164700/ Title: Re: Cancer metastasis processes Post by: beedog on May 1, 2017 Thank you soooooo much!

A normal cell will not turn into a cancerous cell spontaneously. If there is change or damage in the gene which controls cell growth happens, the cell will start multiplying and its life span also gets varied. This continuous multiplication of gene-altered cells results in cancer tumors. The flow will be like angiogenesis, invasion, intravasation, circulation, migration, and extravasation. |
