In what ways are sound waves and electromagnetic waves different?

 They travel at different speeds.

 Electromagnetic waves have frequency but not wavelength.

 Sound waves have frequency but not wavelength.

 Sound waves have wavelength but not frequency

they travel at different speeds

sound is about 340m/s through air

light is about 3x10^8 m/s

Am electromagnetic wave can travel in a vacuum of space. A Sound wave can not propagate in a vacuum.

the answer to your question is "they travel at different speeds."

If you have a frequency then you must have a wavelenght. Because both have a frequency.

They travel at different speeds.

All of the other statements are incorrect because a wave has to have a frequency and a wavelength.


Also, sound waves are longitudinal waves whereas electromagnetic waves are transverse waves. Electromagnetic waves can travel through a vacuum (such as space) because they vibrate tiny electric and magnetic fields instead of particles. Whereas sounds waves need a medium (such as air) to travel through and can not pass through a vacuum.
