Also (this might be a bit obvious) but... what electromagnetic waves can be used to cook food? Is it microwaves?

I don'y know what you intend by "affect".
Every electromagnetic wave will induce a voltage in a TV antenna. Even microwaves. The tuner of the TV is the thing that allows only the right frequencies through, rejecting the rest.
However you will see interference on the picture when there are lightning flashes. The frequency range of a lightning discharge is so broad, there is some frequencies will get through. The picture being AM, is affected.
The sound, being FM, is not.
Microwaves of a frequency around 2.45 gHz are used for cooking.
