Title: Find the magnetic field strength, magnetic flux and flux density in the core of the following question?
Post by: Datiyota on Mar 1, 2013
A toroid has u r = 600 and is wound with 550 turns of copper wire carrying a current of 2 A. It has a cross-sectional area of 4x10^-3m^2 and a mean radius of 100mm.
Find the magnetic field strength, magnetic flux and flux density in the core.

Also and explanation and working would be great since reading over the topic I wasn't sure of how to apply what the text book said since there were no worked examples.

Thanks.

to fine the flux of field...u hve to use this formula
B=munot N I/2 pie r
the value of mu not is constant..tht is.4(3.142) *10^-7 web/amp m
just put al those values in this formula..
B=4(3.142)x10^-7x550x2/(2x3.142x0.1)  convert 10mm into m which is radius by divinding with 1000.
B=2.2x10^-3 weber/m^2 or tesla
now u get magnetic field....for finding the magnetic flux density
this is a formula
magnetic flux=magnetic field * Area
magnetic flux=2.2x10^-3 * 4x10^-3
magnetic flux=8.8x10^-6 webers
now flux density
flux density=magnetic flux/area
flux density=8.8x10^-6/4x10^-3
flux density=2.2x10^-3 web/m^2
how u will get tht.
