Title: Find the derivatives?
Post by: calcourse on Mar 30, 2013
1. find derivative of f(x) = sec(5x)

a. sec2(5x)

b. 5sec2(5x)

c. sec(5x)tan(5x)

d. 5sec(5x)tan(5x)

e. None of these.

2. find derivative of f(x)=x^3-3x/x^2

Actually, I figured out number 1 so help on number 2 would be appreciated!

d. 5sec(5x)tan(5x)

f(x)=x^3-3x/x^2

Change it to this:

f(x) = x3 - 3x*x-2

The only hard part is 3x*x-2, while x3 becomes 3x2. I'd assuming you using the product rule for 3x*x-2, I think.
