Title: Probability Problem in Statistics? Post by: leca1994 on Oct 4, 2013 I missed one lecture and now I'm so confused!
The rates of on-time flights for commercial jets are continuously tracked by the U.S Department of Transportation. Recently, Southwest Air had the best rate with 80% of its flights arriving on time. If 15 Southwest flights are randomly observed, find the probability that: A) None are on time B) All are on time C) At least 10 are on time D) No more than 4 are on time. The answer in the back says: A) P(0) = 0.000 B) P(15) - 0.0352 C) P(10) + P(11) +...+P(15)= 0.939 D) P(0)+P(1)...+P(4)= 0.000 I don't understand how to get these answers. I'm guessing it has something to do with nCr and factorials, but I'm not sure how to put it all together. Please help! Title: Probability Problem in Statistics?
