A) Foucault stated that power is exercised in the name of known truth and that claim justifies the power of those who wield it. This he says, is a presupposition that we actually know the truth. B) The premise that if we perceive the truth about something, we can control it or at least predict its behavior. Foucault asserted that how we perceive things depends upon our need to control them. C) Once text is formed into discourses, it has already been altered from the truth and becomes subject to our representations. D) The truth is illusive and subjective based upon our representations assigned to it. E) Something that is apart from the rest can be learned by the observation to fit, but the labels placed on it then make it deviant or marginalized.
