Comparing wild-type and mutant fruit flies
Two different Drosophila flies (fruit flies), fly A and fly B, are shown below.

Classify each phrase or term as applying to fly A only, fly B only, or both fly A and fly B.
Drag each phrase or term to the appropriate bin.

So, the options are (shown below) and you need to put them into the following columns?

Fly A only ............................. ........Fly B only......................... ......both fly and fly B

1. Homeotic mutant
2. Possesses mutant Hox genes
3. Possesses normal Hox genes
4. Exhibits normal pattern formation
5. Wild-type
6. Exhibits abnormal pattern formation
7. Produces transcription factors triggering gene expression for segment-specific structures

1. Homeotic mutant

Fly A is a wild-type, but B isn't.

Homeotic mutant should go under bin B. That I know with complete certainty. #7 should go under both. #6 under B. #5 is the first bin, obviously.

So would that mean that ?

2. Possesses mutant Hox genes = Bin B?
3. Possesses normal Hox genes = Bin A?
4. Exhibits normal pattern formation= Bin A?

Bin A: wild type, normal pattern formation, normal Hox genes.
Bin B: abnormal pattern formation, mutant Hox genes, homeotic mutant
Bin C: produces transcription factors triggering gene expression for segment specific structures

Awesome!! Got this right on the first try.
