Title: Forms of Energy During Metabolism
Post by: omega1 on Dec 9, 2013
Metabolism can be viewed as a series of energy transformations, starting with the energy stored in highly reduced carbon bonds. What two other forms does this energy take during the metabolic process? How are these transformations achieved?

Metabolism is viewed as the entire biochemical pathway in an organism, which means both catabolism and anabolism, that maintains life.  If we start with reduced carbon atoms, which are present in organic molecules, we can transform the potential chemical energy into thermal, kinetic, or any other form of chemical energy by metabolic and anabolic transformations.  These transformations include processes like the calvin cycle and cirtic acid cycle.
