Title: Which way do plant roots grow and explain the physiology of the root that allows it to grow this way?

I got that plant roots grow in any direction where the correct environment of air, water and mineral nutrients exists to meet the plants needs.

Take into account gravitropism. The root usually grows downward in direction to gravity.
