Title: The Wobbegong shark Written by: duddy on Aug 12, 2013 (https://biology-forums.com/gallery/47/4_12_08_13_7_36_37.jpeg) (https://biology-forums.com/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=12784) Not all sharks are built for speed. This bottom-dwelling wobbegong shark stays near the ocean floor. Its camouflage allows it to go largely unnoticed, until its prey wanders too close or thinks the tassels are something to eat. Then, the wobbegong leaps into action, devouring the unlucky fish, squid, or crustacean. They’ve even been seen swallowing other sharks whole! Comments: You could say if this shark did not have speed to leap into action it would starve... so this animal actually is built for speed just a slightly different kind. Lots of people see images like these and wonder what they are, I instantly think it is a horrifying image. Written by: sci_expert on Aug 12, 2013 Looks like carpet. Written by: savio on Aug 12, 2013 |
