T: Generally, patients with tuberculosis and HIV infection are treated with the same drugs as patients without HIV infection. One exception is that during the continuation phase, the patient should receive higher doses of INH and rifapentine to prevent relapse with rifamycin-resistant organisms; the recommended time of treatment is longer.
