After several weeks of providing care on a busy medical unit, a nursing student has seen evidence that a systematic approach to problem-solving is the best approach to the many decisions that nurses must make.

A useful approach to problem-solving is to begin by
  A) eliciting input from as many other people as possible.
  B) brainstorming potential responses to the problem to maximize options
  C) stating the problem in your own words to ensure that you understand it.
  D) trying to implement the simplest solution to the problem before trying more difficult solutions.
