The key for survival in the helping profession for the long term is to be able to:
 
  A) numb ourselves both physically and psychologically.
  B) compound our problems rather than solving them.
  C) balance a caring and empathic therapeutic style with the ability to distance yourself from the impact of your professional life at the end of the day.
  D) avoid dealing with our emotions.
