A 58-year-old man on a respiratory unit with emphysema. Mr. Fenske, 58 years old, is admitted from the Emergency Department (ED) to the Respiratory Unit where you work.
His admitting diagnosis is acute respiratory distress secondary to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). This is the first time Mr. Fenske has been hospitalized for COPD.
