What are some of the techniques used in genetic recombination research and what are some of the products that have been made? All i can think of is taking a plasmid and having the bacterium take it up then recombination occurs Lol!

Some techniques of genetic recombination research include using enzymes and various laboratory techniques to manipulate and isolate DNA segments of interest. This method can be used to combine (or splice) DNA from different species or to create genes with new functions1. The resulting copies are often referred to as recombinant DNA.
