There are three components in a logical argument: (1) reasons, (2) evidence, and (3) conclusions.
 
 
  Evidence answers which questions?
  a.
  Why? Why should the hearer think or do something?
 
  b.
  How do you know? Is there support for this? Facts? Data? Stories?
 
  c.
  What? What does the persuader want the hearer to think or do?
