If the water velocity in a 3-inch hose (A = 0.049 ft2) is 30 ft/sec, what is the water velocity in the 2 1/2 -inch (A=0.034 ft2) hose that is connected to the end of the 3-inch hose, and how many gpm are flowing?

Velocity = 43.2 fps
Flow = 1.47 ft3/sec or 660 gpm)
