I am trying to find some CURRENT whole genome sequencing techniques that are being used by PhDs today. Unfortunately, I am having a hard time finding newer whole genome sequencing technologies since the information provided is typically very limited. So, if you could provide some modern technologies used for this application, as well as, their principles that would be great. I would also appreciate it if you could provide some references regarding the technology and literature that proves its use.

Use an online genome database and refine the searches to including dates no later than 2011.

Describe principle behind various whole genome sequencing technologies. Describe application of one whole genome sequencing from literature for providing deeper insight into biological function.
