Explanation:   Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) is a Microsoft tunneling protocol based on PPP. It uses built in Microsoft Point-to-Point encryption and can use a number of authentication methods, including CHAP, MS-CHAP, and EAP-TLS. One shortcoming of PPTP is that it only works on IP-based networks.
