What does implicit and explicit mean? Also can you help me use these terms to solve these following questions?
1) y= 5x-8
2)3x^2+2y^2=0

to elaborate on point 2,

3x^2 = -2y^2

-3/2 x^2 = y^2

y =±SQRT (-3/2) x

The independent variable is what's on the horizontal axis, so usually the x variable. Dependent is on the vertical axis, so typically the y.
