Hello friends, I am an active duty marine retiring in 2019. I am deeply interested in the study of fungi (mycology) I am seeking answers on what exact major or majors I should pursue in order to have a career in mycology. I am from Michigan but I am willing to travel to pursue this career. I appreciate the feedback friends.

You'd need to start with a biology degree for that, and any college or university these days covers this major. I studied biology for 4 years and throughout that time, learned heaps of material on this subject. In your fourth year, you can decide to do a research project on mycology, where you work with an expert in the field discovering something. Beyond graduation, you can earn your masters degree in this field.

With all that said, there's no known degree in mycology, it's more of a biology-based speciality.
