It is often necessary to explain the groups decision and convince others it is the best solution.  General guidelines for presenting the groups thinking: 1) Present the solution in a nonthreatening manner; 2) Present a new solution tentatively; 3) Link changes to familiar problems; 4) Explain why the solution will work; 5) State the negatives; 6) Relate the solution to members needs and interests. Guidelines for speaking in a panel group: 1) As moderator, treat members and their questions with respect and objectivity; 2) As a panel member, speak in short turns and resist long stories or detailed accounts; 3) As either, spread the conversation around, allowing each participant equal time to speak. Guidelines for speaking in a symposium or team presentation:1) Coordinate the presentations very carefully; 2) Mentally rehearse the order and flow of presentations; 3) Adhere carefully to time limits; 4) Provide clear transitions between presentations.
