Maybe not the most extensive response you're probably looking for but generally prevention is key with any type of disorder, including drug addiction. However, many times, the opportunity for prevention passes, and the phase of intervention begins. Treatment options for drug addiction have been around for decades, to include involuntary hospitalizations. In today’s world, cognitive behavior therapy can be a powerful tool in combating drug dependency, along with medication management. Opioid dependency is one of the hardest addictions to overcome. However, with advancements in medicine, new therapies have been developed such as the use of Suboxone. Suboxone is used to treat the withdrawal and stop the cravings for opioids. It is important that both treatments be used together, in order to be more effective.
