Hello! Smiling Face with Open Mouth I am studying for my A-level Biology Main Cambridge exams and I have a question about ionic bonds in globular proteins and their denaturation. So, I know that ionic bonds can be broken by pH but I was wondering if it can also be broken by high temperatures?
Thank you.

Thank you!
Well in my A-level syllabus they don't mention it being less present or more present. They just say that ionic bond is one of the bonds between NH3 + and COO - and that they affect the 3-D structure.
But thanks for your answer

Also be mindful that ionic bonds occur between metals and non-metals. Neither NH3+ and COO- are metals.

That's good to know, usually they ignore this in textbooks. Found something a little more informative too
