All of the following arguments have been used against special education for children who are gifted EXCEPT

• It is inhumane and un-American to segregate students for instruction.

• It is not fair to allocate special resources for those who are already advantaged.

• Students labeled as gifted develop more emotional problems than students with similar abilities who are not labeled.

• There is a danger of leaving some children out when only the ablest are selected for special programs.
