30 caps x day/1 cap = x days
x = 30 days


The quantity to dispense usually won’t be written on the prescription, but instead you will need to choose the most appropriate container size and calculate days’ supply from that quantity.

In most cases, the trick is to convert both the prescribed dose and the amount of drug in the whole container into the same unit of measure (e.g., drops, mL, puffs, units, etc).
