The basic idea for calculating days’ supply of fixed quantity meds is the same. You need to figure out howmuch of the med the patient will use each day, and then figure out how many days the container of med willlast. Do this by dividing the total amount in the container by the total amount used each day. Onceagain, the trick is getting both the total amount in the container and the amount used each day into thesame unit of measure. However, you will see that there are nuances to be taken into consideration fordifferent types of meds.
