What is the pH of a solution made by mixing 5.00 mL of 0.10 M acetic acid with 5.00 mL of 0.10 M KOH? Assume that the volumes of the solutions are additive. Ka = 1.8×10-5 for CH3CO2H.

5.00 mL = 0.005 L

acetic acid = 0.005L * 0.10 M = 0.0005 mol
KOH = 0.005L * 0.10 M = 0.0005 mol

pKa = -log(ka)
pKa =-log(1.8*10^-5)
pKa = 4.74

pH = pKa + log(base mol / acid mol)
pH = 4.74 + log(0.0005/0.0005)
pH = 4.74
