Absolutely. When referring to "silver halide", the halogen can be: bromine, chlorine, iodine, fluorine OR a combination of these, silver bromide (AgBr), silver chloride (AgCl), silver iodide (AgI), and three forms of silver fluoride, respectively.

Yes.

Other than Silver element, any other transition elements in the Periodic table.

Can we use any othis transition elements combined with Halogens for X Ray Films?

Example : CuX , NiX, MoX, HgX etc

Can there be chemical reactions of transition elements other than Silver with Halogens ?

Thanks & Regards,

From what I've read, silver halides respond to light better than other compounds. Said differently, AuX's compounds are more sensitive to light than any other photochemical material.

Sorry for the double-post, I received an error initially that it didn't post the first time!

Anyway, to be more specific for your follow-up question:

Can the other Transition metals combination with Halogens be evaluated for X ray films?

I added above:

Yes, but they're not as effective. Silver is an expensive metal, remember that, so if they could find a cheaper alternative, it'd benefit everyone.

Hope that makes more sense...
