Assume that you plan to use a significance level of alpha=0.05 to test the claim that p1=p2. Use the given sample sizes and numbers of successes to find the z test statistic for the hypothesis test.
A report on the nightly news broadcast stated that 13 out of 103 households with pet dogs were burglarized and 23 out of 177 without pet dogs were burglarized.

I split the topic to be its own, always start a new topic per new question. Anyway, this question requires a special formula:

\(z=\frac{p_1-p_2}{\sqrt{\frac{p_1\left(1-p_2\right)\ }{n_1}+\frac{p_2\left(1-p_1\right)}{n_2}}}\)

Let's find p1 = 13 out of 103 = \(\frac{13}{103}\)
Let's find p2 =23 out of 177 = \(\frac{23}{177}\)

\(z=\frac{\frac{13}{103}-\frac{23}{177}}{\sqrt{\frac{\frac{13}{103}\left(1-\frac{23}{177}\right)\ }{103}+\frac{\frac{23}{177}\left(1-\frac{13}{103}\right)}{177}}}\)

If you calculate that correctly, you get your z value

I got z=-0.090

Did you use the same technique as me?

Yeah I think so. I think that was the closest answer to what I got.
A)z=0.000
B)z=-0.036
C)z=-0.153
D)z=-0.090( the one that I got)
Is my answer wrong?
