There are multiple programs that were developed during the War on Poverty. Some of these include Head Start, Adult Basic Education, Work Study, Community Action (which involved multiple programs, Upward Bound, etc. Most of these are still in effect today and most remain successful. Including specifics about how they ae successful would be helpful. There have been large funding cuts to some of these programs. Whether the War on Poverty was successful remains debated and different ideological perspectives see this in different ways. The student can take the perspective they believe and discuss this. Either answer can be correct.
