Suggested Responses: Students should describe physical growth and motor development as proceeding from the head down and the inside out. Examples should include such things as rapid brain growth and slow maturing legs and feet, abdominal (organ) growth that outpaces limbs, neck and head control before walking, and progression of motor skills from gross to fine.
