Suggested Responses: Students should suggest several of the following adaptations for a child with a visual impairment: creating a large safe motor play space, offering auditory toys, and placing identification patches on classroom materials. For the child with hearing impairments, students should recommend several of the following: using total communication, providing rich tactile and auditory cues, using assistive devices, and making acoustical adjustments to reduce background noise.
