Suggested Responses: Parents and caregivers foster a sense of trust in infants by responding with prompt and warm comfort to their expressions of need, e.g. crying, fussing, gesturing, etc. Consistency and dependability are keys to assuring infants that their world, i.e. parents, is a secure, safe, and friendly place that can be trusted.
