Shoot You and a friend are working on shooting free throws at basketball practice. Your friend has a season average of making 80% of his shots.
a. If the coach asks your friend to shoot 70 times, how many shots do you expect him to make, on average?

c. 60 or more shots made is shown on the graph to happen over 14% of the time by chance alone, so this is not a large enough improvement to indicate a real improvement. This number of successes is only 1.2 standard deviations above the average we would expect him to make, so that further shows that this is not a significant improvement.
