Answers should define polyvictimization as multiple instances of varied victimizations, or victimizations of different kinds and revictimization as continued victimization by the same offender committing the same type of crime.
Research suggests that victims of polyvictimization have far greater levels of additional lifetime adversities and levels of distress. Revictimization, while still quite serious in its consequences, does not appear to create the same degree of lasting social and other handicaps as does polyvictimization.
