Not necessarily. From what I understood, it's catered to humans only. The immune system of cats, and other pets can differ substantially.

Thank you.

Do you feel there could also be chances of Cats & Dogs as carrier hosts along with Pangolin , Bats & Humans for COVID - 19?

Thank you.

Testing kits for Pets viz Cats, Dogs, Horses, Rabbits, Tortoises, Turtles, Parrots etc will be required to test whether they have been transmitted the COVID-19.

I think recently they found that a dog died after being infected, hence they can be carriers. At the end of the day, they are mammals, and we share a lot of the same physiology as it. It all boils down to how strong their immune system is.

Quote
Researchers had shown previously that the new coronavirus is most similar to two other bat viruses; in fact, its genomic similarity to these viruses is 88%, which led scientists to believe that bats carried the new virus.

Now, the two researchers used genomic sequencing to compare the DNA of the new coronavirus in humans with that in animals and found a 99% match with pangolins.

Wow, very compelling evidence

The animal's scales are in high demand for use in traditional Chinese medicine, while pangolin meat is considered a delicacy.

The frightening thing is the prospect that our pets can be vectors of the epidemic in our society. That would be a game-changer in all this, then I think it'd be as bad as they say it's going to be. For now, I'm still a bit skeptical.

Thank you.

There are couple of questions from my end.

1   Is Tracing the correct Host carrier for COVID-19 not a mandatory requirement or useful for designing & developing a vaccine?

2 Is Tracing the correct Host carrier for COVID-19 not a mandatory requirement or useful for developing a cure or treatment?

Potential Host carriers identified for COVID-19 are
Pangolin, Bat, Dog, Cat.

What's your opinion?

Thanks & Regards

It's not mandatory, but it's important that we know the source just for reference. We do not need the source to develop a working vaccines, because we can harvest the virus from any host, such as a human.

The same also applies to question 2. The source is important to compare genomes, but apart from that it's not mandatory.

Bats, Pangolin, for sure. There's not enough data to suggest that dogs and cats act as vectors for its spread.

Thank you.

So the Best input sources of designing & developing vaccine as well as cure for
COVID-19 would be Positive tested Human Being samples affected by COVID-19?

Can we also take Cats & Dogs samples who have tested positive COVID-19 for creating vaccine & cure medicine?

Thanks & Regards,
