Of course, but it's more important to be realistic with the timeline. As per their website:

Vaccine development during an epidemic: Experts have estimated that it will take 12-18 months to develop a new vaccine at high speed. Under normal circumstances, most vaccine development programmes take more than five years, so this is still a considerably accelerated timescale.

So while everyone is working diligently towards a common goal, to ensure safety and health risk management issues are properly addressed, time needs to be taken to do things right.

For each milestone, they should publish an article on their findings. You could email them, but I'd wait for a major breakthrough.

You're most likely to get an auto response, but I'm curious to see how they'd respond. I'd guess they only respond to journals or prominents members of health departments around the world.

Give it a try, report back to us!

Upwards Arrow Interesting document. Where did you unearth this thing?

The news do not highlight the current development progress in % completion of COVID-19 vaccine from Curevac biotech co.

From my experiencing working in a lab, experiments take time to conduct - weeks, months, and years. Having a journalist probe the researchers every other day certainly won't make them work any faster.

Thank you.

The Hydroxychloroquine drug evaluation success will depend upon getting the latest data for COVID-19 patients cured with Hydroxychloroquine and without any other complications or side effects across the globe?

Hydroxychloroquine works by slowing the rate at which a virus reproduces itself. This buys time for a person's immune system to build up its own defenses to take on the coronavirus.

Using a hydroxychloroquine-azithromycin cocktail appear to have helped people recover faster and avoid the most severe symptoms of COVID-19. I'm not sure how azithromycin helps - as far as I know, it is an antibiotic. I have no idea of the mechanism involved, and how it relates to viral reproduction. At the moment the extent which azithromycin could have a benefit in treating viruses and the mechanisms behind it aren’t well understood.
