I was paid hourly. Every two weeks, a paycheck would be sent automatically to my bank account. Every six months, I would he eligible for a raise.

Advantages of Hourly Rate

  • It is simple to apply and calculate.
  • Allows for overtime work; whereas a salary would limit the employee to a specific wage, regardless of any extra time put into the work.
  • Since the wages are not dependent on the quantity of production, employees don't have to sacrifice the quality of the work by speeding up the production to earn a higher wage.

Disadvantages of Hourly Rate

  • Because the wages are dispensed on the basis of time devoted to a job, it provides no incentive for the employee to maintain or achieve a high level of productivity.
When you like a flower, you just pluck it out.
But when you love a flower, you water it daily.
The one who understands this, understands life.

- That's the difference between I like you and I love you.
