What should a manager do when waiting guests become agitated upon seeing empty (reserved) tables in the dining room that they believe they could/should be seated at?

▸ Politely explain that those tables are being held for soon-to-arrive reservations

▸ Turn this into a teaching opportunity regarding the value of making a reservation

▸ Go ahead and seat them at one of the tables to quiet them down

▸ Show them to the bar and offer them a complimentary beverage to stop the complaining
