I've never heard about double angle identities, also a little confused on how it ended up getting to tan 2x, is there a simpler way to do this?

oh okay, thank you so much for the formulas, its just that my teacher showed us that the way to simplify 2 tan x / 1 - tan ^2 x was by breaking it up, like tan x + tan x/ 1 - (tan x)(tan x)
                                                                              = tan (x + x)
                                                                              = tan 2x
