John is on a diet. He currently weighs 236 pounds. His current plan is to lose 2 pounds a week.
a. Write a linear equation to represent John’s weight after 𝑤𝑤 weeks.
b. After how many weeks will John weigh 220 pounds?

y = 236 - 2w

Where y represents his weight and w represents weeks.

b) Set y equal to 220

220 = 236 - 2w
220 - 236 = - 2w
-16 = -2w
-16/-2 = w
8 = w

Therefore it'll take 8 weeks to reach a weight of 220 lb

A basket containing 180 cherries is split amount 3 different people. Charlie receives twice the
amount that Sam receives, and Fred receives 20 more than Sam. How many cherries do each of
the men receive?

I tried this one on my own but can someone try it so I can double check thanks!

but the dog food costs twice what the cat food costs. She needs to feed 150 cats and 30 dogs.
Her budget is $3250. How much can Susan spend on dog food per dog? Show your setup
equations.

My answer:
C= cost of cat food
D= cost of dog food
Constraint = $3250
Equation:
C2=D which is greater than or equal to $3250

is this correct? If not could you explain what I did wrong
