It is clean-up time at Kid's Kollege. Clean-up is very chaotic. Children are assigned to an area to clean up. Some of the children resist cleaning up and very slowly pick up the toys while others work very quickly. After children finish cleaning up they are supposed to go to the circle time rug. However, instead some of the children get bored waiting and begin to get more toys out. Then these toys need to be put away. Which of the following solutions would be the most effective way to solve the problem?

▸ Plan an activity at the circle time rug that begins as soon as one or two children have completed clean-up.

▸ Require all the children to continue to pick up until all the toys and materials are put away.

▸ Give a star to the first children who are done cleaning up.

▸ Require children who don't pick up or who take toys out after clean-up time begins to sit out the first five minutes of center time the next day.
