Answers will vary, but should contain the following for full credit: Reciprocal determinism is a core concept in the social-cognitive approach to understanding personality. It argues that there is a bidirectional relationship between personality, behavior, and the environment. An individual's personality characteristics determine the environments that person will seek, but those environments in turn shape and sharpen personality. Environments elicit certain behaviors, but performing those behaviors means those same kind of environments are sought again in the future. Personality determines behavior-an extravert tends to act in an extraverted manner-but behavior can also reinforce the presence of personality characteristics. In every instance causality is bidirectional.
